Amgen Ventures was formed in 2004 to provide emerging biotechnology companies with resources to develop pioneering discoveries focused on human therapeutics. Amgen Ventures reflects Amgen’s commitment to helping patients through cutting-edge science and its desire to transform science through innovation.  As an important component of Amgen’s overall outreach strategy, Amgen Ventures invests in early-stage biotechnology companies focused on discovering and developing human therapeutics. The fund offers early-stage companies access to Amgen’s extensive capabilities while providing Amgen with insight into external research innovations that may pave the way for future collaborations.

HealthCare Ventures (HCV)
HCV is one of the world's largest venture capital firms specializing in health care, making investments in early stage and emerging growth companies that have the potential for exceptional growth. The firm has successfully raised and managed eight funds totaling $1.6 billion during the past 22 years. Notable HealthCare Ventures investments include public companies such as Advancis Pharmaceutical Corp., Critical Therapeutics, Dendreon Pharmaceuticals, Diversa Corp., Human Genome Sciences, LeukoSite, MedImmune, NitroMed, OraSure, Replidyne, Inc., Shire Pharmaceuticals, and Vicuron Pharmaceuticals.

Novitas Capital
Founded in 1997, Novitas Capital mines innovation and opportunities where investment for seed, start-up and early stage technology and life sciences ventures is scarce. Novitas discovers companies at their earliest stages, thoroughly vets them and, upon typically leading investment rounds, takes an active role in facilitating their success. Based in Wayne, Pennsylvania, with offices in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Allendale, New Jersey; and Morgantown, West Virginia, Novitas currently has approximately 30 active portfolio companies and $237.5 million under management across three venture capital funds.

Quaker BioVentures
Quaker BioVentures is a venture capital firm investing only in life science companies. The firm leads investments across the spectrum of the life science industry, including biopharmaceuticals, medical devices, human diagnostics, specialty pharmaceuticals, and healthcare services. Quaker BioVentures invests in companies at all stages of development, from early stage businesses to public companies.
